SCHOOL SAFETY ADVISORY COMMITTEE

"School safety" has been defined as creating safe environment for children starting from their homes to their schools and back. Children require a healthy and supportive environment to grow and develop.

Objectives

  • Prevention of human and economic losses from personal injury and property damage.
  • Prevention of losses from fire.
  • Ensuring the safety, protection and well – being of students and staff.
  • Safe schools promote the protection of students from violence, exposure to weapons and threats, theft, bullying and use of illegal substances on school grounds.

SEXUAL HARASMENT PROTECTION COMMITTEE

“The meaning and content of the fundamental rights guaranteed in the constitution of India are of sufficient amplitudes to encompass all facts of gender equality….”

Objectives

  • To provide a safe environment and protection against the sexual harassment and to ensure fundamental rights of a woman to equality under article 14 and 15 of the constitution of India and right to life and live with dignity under article 21 of the constitution of India.
  • To create awareness about sexual harassment.
  • It is well established that ensuring safe working conditions for women leads to a positive impact on their participation in the work force and increases their productivity, which in turn benefits the nation as a whole.
